Hello! My name is Katie Mayabb and I am the Art and STEM Art teacher at Benton. Very soon, this site will be a place to learn about what our Bee Artists are doing and also see examples of their work, but for now I'd like to tell you a little bit about myself. I am from Kansas City, Missouri, but I have lived in Columbia since June of 2010. After high school, I moved to Springfield to attend Missouri State University, where I received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design in 2008. It didn't take me very long to realize that working in a cubicle and sitting at a computer all day was not what I wanted to do with my life, so I moved to Columbia to get my Master's Degree in Education and become a certified Art teacher. This is my first year teaching and I am loving it!
